Coming HOME!

We came home from the hospital today!! Time for real life to begin... Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes! Ian is a healthy little guy who is busy nursing, sleeping, pooping and peeing... I am taking the time to enjoy his funny faces, new baby smell, scrunched up body, and his littleness! If only the days would not go by so fast.

Tomorrow is the BIG day!

I had my last Dr. appointment this past Tuesday and presented my Dr. with a top 10 list of why baby Ian should be born a little sooner than my scheduled surgery... Here was my list:

10. My belly button is going to POP!
9. He's got to weigh at least 8 lbs.
8. I toss and turn all night long
7. He is out of room to move around
6. The 21st is my lucky number
5. He wants to meet his brother and sister
4. It's time to retire the tums
3. My hospital bag is all packed, my legs are shaved (somewhat) and toes are painted
2. I'll be a much nicer mommy because I will sleep better
1. Ian is tired of the dark and ready to see the light!

So, he pretty much laughed at me and said just don't go into labor on Thursday because I will be out of town for a funeral...

In the scheme of things 4 days is nothing compared to the many days and months I have carried this little guy in my tummy. I have been nervous about having a third c-section. For some reason the surgery really causes me a lot of anxiety. Through many prayers and blessings I have really felt a lot of peace this past week and I know that I am in the Lord's hands and that he will deliver this baby safely into my hands. I am so excited to meet my little guy for the first time tomorrow!! We will post some pictures as soon as possible! Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes!!

What our DAD has been up to!

I thought I would do a post about Jeff! He has been so busy lately, in fact I think this is the busiest I have ever seen him in the six years of our marriage. He just recently finished framing out our basement. I think it took a little longer than he thought it would but he has done a great job! (he is somewhat of a perfectionist). He also started to play flag football on Saturdays with his younger (by about 10 years) brother. After one game he came home with huge bruises on both arms and his chest. I thought, flag football?? The following week I said I was not sure he should be playing with the younger boys. That day I get a phone call that Jeff is at the emergency room with a broken nose and stitches and no insurance... He also has been very busy at work! They are putting a beautiful home in the Parade of Homes. It has been fun to watch the house getting built. He has become pretty good friends with the owner. He is a 25 year old investor worth millions. Jeff is always picking his brains. Here is the link to the new company he and his friend started http://www.evergreencustom.com/. With all of the basement framing, flag football, and work... He has made time to help me out around the house, take care of the dog and take Britten fishing a few times... Britten loves to go fishing with his dad. The last time he went he said he was going to bring 10 fish home. 5 for eating and 5 to hang on his wall... I sure love my Bullock boys! And am really proud of my hubby and all that he does!

Happy MOMS day!

Jeff took Britten fishing the Saturday of mother's day weekend and Sarah and I spent the day together doing some fun things...

My first present was to get my car washed! I love getting my car cleaned out and it has been a while. With kids and the dog and building supplies it was dirty. Next we went to Jamba Juice to share a smoothie. It was yummy! Then we hit Target to do some last minute baby/hospital things. Finally it was off to the crowded nail salon to get pedicures! Sarah sat on my lap and soaked her little feet in the bubbling water. They painted her nails and put little flowers and jewels on her big toe. She was so proud to show everyone her diamonds. I truly enjoyed relaxing in the massage chair getting my toes done! It was such a great day! Thanks Jeff for the fun day and special treats!
Happy Belated MOM's day to all of my mommy friends out there!

Takes you BACK...

You know how sometimes a song can take you back in time. I was driving this morning when Jack and Diane played on the radio. So, this was one of "our songs" in high school. This and American Pie. I wanted to give a shout out to all of my high school buddies. It has been a long time since those carefree days. It is crazy to look back and think of all of the worries you have as a teenager that seem so minimal as an adult. There is a line in the song that says "hold onto 16 as long as you can, changes come around real soon that make us women and men..." I guess 16 has come and gone for me but now as a young adult with little kids I want to hold onto this stage as long as I can too. Anyway - there is something about high school memories...

My Girly Girl

It has been so fun to have a girl after having a boy. Sarah is such the girly girl. She LOVES to put on lip gloss, eye shadow and blush. She loves to have her hair done. She loves wearing her dresses on Sunday and getting her hair curled. And she loves to wear jewelry! Her Aunt Barbara took her to the toy store the other day and let her pick out a toy and she picked out a blow dryer kit, with a brush, curlers, and dryer. She has been carrying it around the past couple of days. As soon as she hears me drying my hair she runs in with her kit to sit on the counter and dry her hair too. Jeff and I talk about how well rounded she will be because she is the first one to want to go fishing, or hiking or exploring with her dad. She is such a character and we LOVE her!

Riding to the Finish Line!

So my good friend Lisa from Houston just finished the MS-150 Bike Tour from Houston to Austin, Texas. It was a goal of hers I believe from last year to ride this year and she did it! What a great accomplishment and what a great cause!! I have a sister-in-law who is fighting Multiple Sclerosis and have seen the struggles that she has faced and is currently facing. Here is a link to some info on the bike tour and MS.

Yeah Lisa!! WAY TO GO...

Right now I feel like I too am racing in a race. The pregnancy race. I have 4 weeks to go and wonder if I will make it to the finish line. I guess life is full of different races and we are all on the race track trying to get to some finish line to turn around and race again! I'm really grateful for good friends and family who stand on the side lines to cheer me on to the finish!

More pics of our week!

Bear thought our laundry pile was his new bed! He is not allowed on the wood floors but I did not have the heart to make him get off because he was so comfortable!

Maximus LOVES to find little places to sleep. Sometimes I have a hard time finding him. He loves the closet! It must be a quiet place for him.
The highlight of my week was Friday morning when the cleaning ladies came! Everything seems to shine when they are done! THANK YOU CLEANING LADIES and THANK YOU MOM!!! What a blessing they are.

sick ALL week...

I keep checking my blog to see what the latest post is when I realize there is not one because we have all been pretty sick! Britten has had the worst case of croup this week starting Sunday night. He has been to the Dr. 3 times for different treatments. It has been pretty scary and nights are the worst so we have been up a few times a night getting steam showers and breathing treatments. Then on Tuesday Sarah kept complaining she had a tummy ache and guess what... that night she was up every hour throwing up. You should have seen me running to her side with a bowl every time she started to cough. So, of course I had to get something. I got a cough/cold and now have a sore throat. We were home in our pj's and sweats all week! I think I will blame it on this CRAZY Utah weather.

7 things that INSPIRE me...

I love this tag which I got again from my friend Kelli. I really enjoyed reading what inspired her and thought about some of the things that inspire me last night.

So, here are seven things that inspire me in no particular order...
1. Sitting on a beautiful beach, listening to the sound of the waves crashing. 2. My family! My husband Jeff makes me want to be a better person and my children inspire me daily with the things they say and do.

3. People who live righteously and are always serving those around themselves.

4. People who overcome disabilities and diseases and have a great outlook on life.

5. The sunshine.

6. The beautiful things in nature. flowers, trees, mountains, waterfalls, thunderstorms, animals.

7. The Gospel

Now it is your turn to share what inspires you!!

Folding Laundry

I had the cutest experience with Britten today that I wanted to share. Sarah was watching a quiet time and I sat down on the floor to fold about 3 loads of laundry. Britten was hanging out by me and said, "hey mom, I can help you fold the laundry." I looked at him thinking, no you don't know how to fold laundry. So I thought I would give him something easy and tossed him a pair of his underwear. He neatly folded them and added them to his pile. Then I tossed him one of his t-shirts and he spread it out on the floor, folded both the arms in, folded in half and then in half again. He told me he learned to fold the laundry at preschool. I was not sure if they had a lesson on household chores or if my friend Anna is really putting our kids to work around her house... Anyway - it was so cute because he sat beside me folding laundry. Who would have thought my 5 year old could be such a huge help! Actually he is, he always helps me clear the table and pick up things off the floor. I am such a lucky mom to have him for a son!

Bag TAG

I have been bag tagged! Now you get to see all the junk in my bag. This is actually a smaller bag than I usually carry and so there is not too much stuff in it. It was packed mainly with receipts which I tucked neatly in the back.

Here is what you do:

1. First take a picture of your bag (purse, diaper bag, briefcase) the one you use daily.
2. Then empty it out and take a picture of it's contents. No cleaning out first
3. "Bag Tag" five people
I tag Natalie, Lindsay, Jamie, Jenn and Sarah!

So, got this one from my friend Kelli's blog... Jeff is going to love this! I was thinking more along the lines of Dr. McDreamy... Maybe I'll have him take the quiz too.

Meet BEAR!

Max's first impression of BEAR!
Bear in Max's bed!
He won't fit much longer. Why do they have to grow so fast?
OK - so my last post totally freaked my mom out. She wants me to find a maid and said she would pay for it for these last few months of pregnancy. I might just take her up on that, so if anyone knows of a good cleaning service let me know.

Here is our new BIG puppy. I guess he was the biggest in the liter. Jeff and the kids went to Filmore Thursday night to pick him up so tomorrow he will have been here one week. The kids are LOVING having a new puppy! We are amazed at how smart he is and how quick he is learning. I am also amazed at how fast Jeff gets out of bed around 2 am to take him out to the bathroom. I have never seen him move so fast from sleep. I think Bear is his new baby. Which brings me to his name. Jeff, Britten and Sarah voted without me. My pick was Charlie or Hutch but I did not have much say. Jeff says he is the one to take him out in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. So does that mean I get to name all the rest of our kids because I am the one who does the feeding and diaper changing in the middle of the night??

So Max and Bear did not get along so well the first few days. They are just starting to warm up to each other. Hopefully they will become good playmates! Because we are so not getting another dog. I am sure there will be many more pics to come!
