Coming HOME!

We came home from the hospital today!! Time for real life to begin... Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes! Ian is a healthy little guy who is busy nursing, sleeping, pooping and peeing... I am taking the time to enjoy his funny faces, new baby smell, scrunched up body, and his littleness! If only the days would not go by so fast.

The kids have been so excited to meet baby Ian. Sarah said she could hold him first because she had "big, strong hands"! They have been so cute to come and visit everyday at the hospital. Ian and I are enjoying our quiet time and getting to know each other! It will be fun to go home though and continue life with Ian in our family!!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!

I had my last Dr. appointment this past Tuesday and presented my Dr. with a top 10 list of why baby Ian should be born a little sooner than my scheduled surgery... Here was my list:

10. My belly button is going to POP!
9. He's got to weigh at least 8 lbs.
8. I toss and turn all night long
7. He is out of room to move around
6. The 21st is my lucky number
5. He wants to meet his brother and sister
4. It's time to retire the tums
3. My hospital bag is all packed, my legs are shaved (somewhat) and toes are painted
2. I'll be a much nicer mommy because I will sleep better
1. Ian is tired of the dark and ready to see the light!

So, he pretty much laughed at me and said just don't go into labor on Thursday because I will be out of town for a funeral...

In the scheme of things 4 days is nothing compared to the many days and months I have carried this little guy in my tummy. I have been nervous about having a third c-section. For some reason the surgery really causes me a lot of anxiety. Through many prayers and blessings I have really felt a lot of peace this past week and I know that I am in the Lord's hands and that he will deliver this baby safely into my hands. I am so excited to meet my little guy for the first time tomorrow!! We will post some pictures as soon as possible! Thank you all for your thoughts and well wishes!!

What our DAD has been up to!

I thought I would do a post about Jeff! He has been so busy lately, in fact I think this is the busiest I have ever seen him in the six years of our marriage. He just recently finished framing out our basement. I think it took a little longer than he thought it would but he has done a great job! (he is somewhat of a perfectionist). He also started to play flag football on Saturdays with his younger (by about 10 years) brother. After one game he came home with huge bruises on both arms and his chest. I thought, flag football?? The following week I said I was not sure he should be playing with the younger boys. That day I get a phone call that Jeff is at the emergency room with a broken nose and stitches and no insurance... He also has been very busy at work! They are putting a beautiful home in the Parade of Homes. It has been fun to watch the house getting built. He has become pretty good friends with the owner. He is a 25 year old investor worth millions. Jeff is always picking his brains. Here is the link to the new company he and his friend started http://www.evergreencustom.com/. With all of the basement framing, flag football, and work... He has made time to help me out around the house, take care of the dog and take Britten fishing a few times... Britten loves to go fishing with his dad. The last time he went he said he was going to bring 10 fish home. 5 for eating and 5 to hang on his wall... I sure love my Bullock boys! And am really proud of my hubby and all that he does!

Happy MOMS day!

Jeff took Britten fishing the Saturday of mother's day weekend and Sarah and I spent the day together doing some fun things...

My first present was to get my car washed! I love getting my car cleaned out and it has been a while. With kids and the dog and building supplies it was dirty. Next we went to Jamba Juice to share a smoothie. It was yummy! Then we hit Target to do some last minute baby/hospital things. Finally it was off to the crowded nail salon to get pedicures! Sarah sat on my lap and soaked her little feet in the bubbling water. They painted her nails and put little flowers and jewels on her big toe. She was so proud to show everyone her diamonds. I truly enjoyed relaxing in the massage chair getting my toes done! It was such a great day! Thanks Jeff for the fun day and special treats!
Happy Belated MOM's day to all of my mommy friends out there!

Takes you BACK...

You know how sometimes a song can take you back in time. I was driving this morning when Jack and Diane played on the radio. So, this was one of "our songs" in high school. This and American Pie. I wanted to give a shout out to all of my high school buddies. It has been a long time since those carefree days. It is crazy to look back and think of all of the worries you have as a teenager that seem so minimal as an adult. There is a line in the song that says "hold onto 16 as long as you can, changes come around real soon that make us women and men..." I guess 16 has come and gone for me but now as a young adult with little kids I want to hold onto this stage as long as I can too. Anyway - there is something about high school memories...

My Girly Girl

It has been so fun to have a girl after having a boy. Sarah is such the girly girl. She LOVES to put on lip gloss, eye shadow and blush. She loves to have her hair done. She loves wearing her dresses on Sunday and getting her hair curled. And she loves to wear jewelry! Her Aunt Barbara took her to the toy store the other day and let her pick out a toy and she picked out a blow dryer kit, with a brush, curlers, and dryer. She has been carrying it around the past couple of days. As soon as she hears me drying my hair she runs in with her kit to sit on the counter and dry her hair too. Jeff and I talk about how well rounded she will be because she is the first one to want to go fishing, or hiking or exploring with her dad. She is such a character and we LOVE her!
