Optimus Prime the snowman...

We came home from beautiful Texas weather to snowy days and overcast skies!! Jeff dressed the kids up to build what I am hoping is the last snowman of this season! The snow has been melting quickly the past few days and spring should be around the corner!! YEAH!

ZOOLOO WARRIAR

Jeff has brought the zooloo warriar tradition into our home. Before bathtime the shirts go on the head and a song is sung about the zooloo warriar! The kids dance around and pretend to be a warriar! It is too funny! This is one of Jeff's best warriar chief hats!

More Cousin FUN!

Bill's family came over Saturday night for dinner and Caroline ended up spending the night. The kids had fun playing together. They started jumping from the coffee table on a few pillows and then ended up with a huge mound of pillows from upstairs. I think they jumped for about 2 hours. Sarah only hit her head 3 times... The next day they went swimming in Bill's hot tub!

Valentine's DELIVERY!

This was a FUN surprise!! Jeff has always been great about bringing me flowers, even if it is not a holiday. These flowers came the day I was feeling the worst and lifted my spirits! I am such a lucky girl!!

Rocephin one, two, THREE! ouch!

So, the downside to a fun weekend in Galveston is that I caught the infection that had gone through most of the family. It was not a fun bug to catch! Started with fever, cough, drainage, aches and pains and headache. My mom works for an infectious disease Dr. so when I started going downhill fast she had me come into the office. My first visit consisted of a shot of Rocephin in the hip which did not feel so great. The Dr. then proceeded to tell me to come back the next two days for two more doses. The nurse could not believe he wanted me to get 3 doses! Maybe it is because I am 25 weeks prego??? So, I spent most of the next 3 days in bed looking out my window at the BEAUTIFUL February Texas weather. talk about BUMMER!! Maybe the plane ride was a little forshadowing of what was to come. I only saw one friend and felt like I should have stayed one more week but I don't think Jeff would have agreed!

The few pictures I took in Galveston!!

The kids had fun playing in the hammock swing on the deck and Britten enjoyed playing the Princess game with his cousin Emma! Finally Sarah had some girls to play with while we were there!!!

Weekend at the BEACH!

Our trip to Texas started out in sunny galveston at this great resort the Bullock's like to visit called Pointe West. Talk about your first class resort. We stayed in a beautiful 4 bedroom, 4 bath beach house. I wish I had more pictures, I did not do so well in the picture department this trip because I was really taking a break... Some highlights were playing on the beach and playing at two of the resorts pool area's. The last day we were there it was so sunny and beautiful!! Britten and Sarah had so much fun playing with their cousins, Katie, Spencer, Emma and Ryder! Thanks Nana and Papa John for the FUN weekend!!

Next Stop Houston Texas!

Very last minute we decided to make a trip to Houston, Texas. Mainly for a girls weekend on Jeff's side of the family. So, our departure was Thursday February 7th! It was very snowy on the way to the airport and my nerves were not so good. By the time we got to the airport the snow had stopped and so I felt a little better about taking off and flying. As we board the plane I find our seats on the back row right next to the bathroom. Being pregnant, this is not a pleasant smell. We take our seats and before we know it the plane is off in the air. Smooth sailing all the way to Texas. NOT! The turbulence was horrible all the way there! This is fabulous with a little girl that has just been potty trained. Of course she had to go peepee as soon as the turbulence was at it's worst. you should have seen us both in the bathroom with me trying to hold her up instead of on the toliet covered in someone else's peepee. For the last 45 minutes I sat there holding the throw up bag trying not to hurl. It was so not fun. But we made it and we are off to Galveston for a weekend of fun in the sun on solid ground! YEAH!

It's a POTTY PARTY!

Everyone in the Bullock household has been so proud of Sarah these past few days! Even Britten runs to the bathroom the celebrate with Sarah as she adds another sticker to her potty chart. So, yesterday I had the idea to have a little potty party to celebrate. We called our cute neighbors Jake and Addy to join in on the fun. Sarah had a fun time and she keeps saying how she is a BIG girl now! Way to go SARAH!
ps. notice the box in the back ground of the kitchen... will I ever be totally unpacked???

Third time is a CHARM!!

Maybe this is the fourth time, not sure. We are celebrating in the Bullock house because Sarah has learned how to use the POTTY!! Here are how the past 3 days have gone:
DAY 1: We put the potty chart on the wall and stickers on the counter. Sarah went all day on the potty and maybe had one accident! YEAH!
DAY 2: She went in her big girl panties all day. I think she went one time on the potty. Mom was a little frusterated and Sarah would just say, "I'm sorry mommy!" So I got her more excited about the present we bought, that she could open when her potty chart was full! Better luck tomorrow.
DAY 3: NO accidents! Sarah is going all by herself without even telling me. This morning I walked by the potty and there she was perched on the seat going. yippie!! She is one sticker shy of her opening her present.
DAYS TO COME: I am sure we will still have some accidents in our future but for the most part, I am finished changing diapers until the end of May!
ps. this is not our potty pictured above...

Remembering a GREAT Man

Quoting an unnamed poet, President Monson said: “‘Here and there, and now and then, God makes a giant among men.’ President Hinckley was such a giant – a giant of knowledge, of faith, of testimony, of compassion, of vision.”

My first memory of President Hinckley was back when I was at Rick's College in Idaho. He came for a devotional and somehow my roommate Kristin and I managed to sneak up to the stage, snag a few chairs and sit on the front row. I'll never forget the feeling of sitting in the presence of the Prophet. He was such a kind loving man and made all of us feel that he loved us individually. A few years later I sat in the front row of a stake conference where a "special guest speaker" was to arrive. In walks President Hinckley with his wife at his side. Again I felt the love this man had for all in the room that he spoke to. I had the priviledge to shake his hand at the wedding reception of my friend Melissa. I also had the priviledge to see him dedicate the Houston, Texas Temple and the Nauvoo, Illinois Temple. All were such spiritual experiences for me and special moments in life I will remember forever. The thing is you did not have to have all of these experiences to know what a "giant" President Hinckley was. And the love that you feel from him comes from the Savior, Jesus Christ. He made you want to be a better person! Thank you for all you did President Hinckley!

"LET US ALL TRY TO STAND A LITTLE TALLER, RISE A LITTLE HIGHER, BE A LITTLE BETTER, MAKE THE EXTRA EFFORT. YOU WILL BE HAPPIER. YOU WILL KNOW NEW SATISFACTION, A NEW GLADNESS IN YOUR HEART." President Gordon B. Hinckley

BRITTEN'S thoughts and memories of the prophet:
When Britten was two years old we had invited some neighbors over for family night. I said to Britten guess who is coming over for family night?? And his response was, "President Hinckley!" Needless to say he was dissapointed it was only our neighbors.

I told Britten about President Hinckely passing away and he was so concerned, he asked how he died and when I told him from old age and that he had lived a long time he then said, "well, I am going to miss him."

Cute valentine idea...

Britten's preschool has been talking about Dinosaurs the past few weeks and so I thought I would make these little valentine treats for him to pass out. Totally cute and kind of boyish! There are 8 boys and 2 girls in his class! POOR TEACHERS.

My new addiction

I crave these things once a week. My cute friend Lindsay brought these cookies over one night when we moved in and it turns out they are in a cookbook I gave her that I have too. I thought I would share it with you! They are to die for!

Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup butter softened (room temp)
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup of oats
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup semi-sweet chunks
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Cream together butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. In a separate bowl sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture and beat well. Stir in oats and chocolate chips. Drop onto greased cookie sheet with an ice cream scoop. Bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes.

I love my kids! But I love going out with my HUBBY even better!

I am now an Oprah groupie...

I am heading to Texas in a week and bad timing because I am going to miss spending Valentine's Day with my valentine! I know I am a horrible wife but I am going for a girls trip last minute. So, we decied to go on an early v day date tonight. We had a yummy dinner at Carabas and then headed to Nordstrom to look at boots. I wanted a new pair for Christmas but Jeff did not know what exactly to get me, so he said he would take me to pick them out. I head to the boot section and spot the cutest boot! I ask the salesman for a pair and he says, "OH, we just got these in today and are almost sold out!" I thought, oh, that is fast. He comes back out with a pair in my size and says, "These are on Oprah's favorite list and we can't keep them in stock, they are selling on ebay for like $400." Of course I loved them on, they are so comfortable. When I told the guy we wanted to buy them he said that is the last pair as if it was my lucky day! Jeff and I just laughed for a few reasons 1. being we haven't had cable for a year and have not watched Oprah either and 2. now I look like an Oprah groupie and probably have the same pair of boots as a million Oprah fans.
